Wander is a small coffee table made of black-coated aluminum and bronze color glass.
The shape is inspired by the changing process of a solar eclipse, representing the constant wandering of inner human emotions.
The design goal is to create a quiet corner for people to enjoy their own peaceful moments in their busy schedules.
Since the pandemic, the life of humans has changed dramatically. People grow through constant loss.
We have all lost time.
Some have lost the opportunity to meet with loved ones forever, the frequent greetings that should fill with laughter and only leave memories of their smiling faces. Some have lost jobs and even lost themselves in such a challenging process.
They are wandering and struggling on the edge of rediscovering their life path.
This whole process is like the various dark moments of life: partings, failures, breakdowns, questioning, and denial.
The lunar eclipse is like this process. The darkness comes unexpectedly, with a raging that swallows everything and rolls on, eating away the light of life little by little.
However, the darkness is not permanent; the shadows cover the entire sphere and slowly move away, then the light follows, which signifies a wandering state of human's inner selves about their perception of the world and struggling to accept the present state.
I want it to convey the emotional atmosphere as:
Quiet, Contemplative, Secluded, Isolated, Mysterious
Enjoy this moment of tranquility and slow reflection, and immerse yourself in time alone.
The all-matte black surface of the frame with bronze accents creates a sense of solitude and mystery. It invites you to contemplate this moment...
The strong contrast between the black solid part and the transparent tinted glass simulates the light entangled in darkness during the lunar eclipse.
Asymmetrically shaped supports for the left and right sides of the table legs convey the conflict and contradiction between the current situation of the self and the external reality.
In this busy world, seize the moment of peace, no matter how the outside world changes, but focus on yourself; you are always you.
See through the glass as if the inside ego wanders between different states.
Everyone stands in a specific space in the world, alone, forming their own circle.
The concise lines and seamless edge of the screw cap endue Wander with a sense of elegance and delicacy.

The color palette of the coppery red set comes from the color of the sunlight reflected from the moon to the atmosphere during the lunar eclipse.
Aluminum is tractable and lightweight. It has good durability and low maintenance, which is resistant to rust and corrosion and easy to clean. Its' stylish is available in various styles, colors, and designs to match various decor. Therefore, it is a reasonable choice for Wander's structure.
